Another myth is your gear breaks when you hit the reset while moving. Your gear broke because oil was put oil on the original rubber gear. The heat from the sun, over time, disolved your gear.

If you have a question of which to order, ask yourself this, do I want to pull the unit a part again later? If no, get both and install both. You are saving your time by doing the fix right the first time.

968's will use the 12 tooth pod and the 911's will use the 16 tooth pod. All cars need the 15 tooth odo gear.
