Volvo 850 Horn Fix FAQ
All horn kits are manufactured by Odometer Gears Ltd.

Step 1

Unscrew both bolt using torx driver

Step 2

Slide top contact towards the top and
twist to remove

Step 3

Use cutters to remove the old horn contact. Leave
the ring connector attached.

Step 4

Use your finger and press the new bushing
up into the hole

Step 5

Use an adjustable plier to sqeeze
the bushing all the way

Step 6

Insert the bolt w/washer in from the top

Step 7

Insert the connector into the "J" nut

Step 8

Screw bolt into contact assembly
and tighten snug.
Don't over tighten.

Additional notes to remove R and R the steering wheel

Required tools:
T-30, 27 torx driver
Cutters
Plyers

Remove fuse #34 -- horn/windshield wiper
This is important to not reinstall the fuse until the airbag is reconnected. Causing the airbag light to come on will take the dealer to reset it at your cost.

Turn wheel all the way to one side. There is a hole on the back of the wheel.

Inside is a T-30 Torx screw that should be removed.

Turn the wheel all the way to the other side and remove the other screw.

When reconnecting the airbag steering wheel assembly to the steering wheel,
tighten the right (looking at it) torx first.
This effects horn operation.
