NOTE: Ford Mustang odometer gears: You will need to remove the cluster and speedometer from your vehicle in order to determine if you need just the drive gear or both the drive and worm gears. There is no model year or production split that will determine if the color of the worm gear installed in your vehicle is white or black without first removing and inspecting your original worm gear. 	Main Drive gear All Mustangs have one drive gear and one worm gear. If the original worm gear is black it is recommended to be replaced. If it is white it is made of a better material and does not need to be replaced. Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis – If odometer and trip are split left and right in the cluster, the car needs 2 drive and 2 worm gears.
