Late Model Audi

When you first turn the ignition switch to the run position, all of the gauges move to the furthest mark of the gauge and then resets to the lowest (sweeps low to high). There is one gear per gauge: speedometer, tachometer, temperature and fuel. These gears are located inside of the stepper motor that attaches to each needle. These gears are mainly for repair facilities as you must use a VAG-COM to initialize and synchronize the motors after repair. The pictures to the left have a pencil eraser in the middle for size comparison as these gears are very tiny.
